§ 32-94. Speed limits—Generally.

  • (a)

    Any person driving a vehicle on a street shall drive such vehicle at a careful and prudent speed not greater than is reasonable and proper having due regard to the traffic, surface and width of the street, atmospheric conditions and any other conditions then existing. No person shall drive any vehicle upon such street at such speed as to endanger the life, limb or property of any person.

    (b)

    Subject to the provisions of subsection (a) of this section, no person shall drive any vehicle on any street or portion of street in excess of the speed limit determined pursuant to the direction of the city council as applicable to such street or portion of a street when signs have been erected giving notice of such speed limit.
